Carnivore Low Carb Flatbread (3 Ingredients)

March 6, 2023

This low carb flatbread is so tasty you won’t even believe it’s carnivore friendly! Comes out with a firm, springy texture, and is a versatile base recipe where you can any toppings you like. It can be used for pizza, for paninis, tacos, tortilla shell, or just to have as a side dish.

I have experimented with a number of carnivore “bread” recipes, many of them require ingredients like cream of tartar or baking powder, which technically make the recipe no longer purely carnivore. The best part about this recipe is that it uses ingredients that you already have on hand and are easy to find!

TIP #1: Use a sugar-free, full-fat greek yogurt instead of plain regular yogurt as the texture of regular yogurt is much thinner and will not contribute to the same ending texture of the flatbread.

TIP #2: Use a silicon baking mat instead of pouring directly on parchment paper to assist with the shape of the flatbread

STEP 1: Prepare ingredients – shred cheese and beat eggs.

STEP 4: Bake in the oven.

The flatbread should lift easily from the parchment paper and you should see a browning on the bottom side of the flatbread as well.

STEP 5: Add any toppings if desired.

Toppings that would go well on this flatbread include bacon, pepperoni, chicken, or beef. This flatbread can also be served as a side dish, used for paninis. Check out our Smoked Salmon Cream Cheese Flatbread and our Meatlovers Flatbread for more ideas.

This is genius! I’ve tried the ‘fathead’ dough in the past where you have to partially melt the mozzarella with butter and almond flour in the microwave but found that so labour intensive and was not always satisfied with the outcome. Also, I no longer use any nut flours. This is so quick and satisfying. First time I made it, I cut it into thirds and made a lasagna. 🥰 it was perfect. I plan to make the smoked salmon and cream cheese Flatbread next as I have smoked salmon in the freezer.

I know chaffles are SO over-exposed… But … Do you think this recipe would work to make waffles or chaffles? Has anyone tried this?

How do you measure a cup of mozz cheese before it’s shredded? B saying “1cup of cheese, shredded” the cheese is measured before it is shredded but ‘1 cup of shredded cheese ‘ would be shredded then measured. I am sincerely and legitimately asking. I don’t know how, and want to make this recipe. I’m not trying to be a snarky Karen – even though asking a question seemingly about semantics looks like I am…

    • Hi Andie, you should shred the cheese first, then measure 1 cup of it shredded. If you are working with a block of cheese, I would shred small amounts in a few batches and add the shredded cheese to your measuring cup until it is full, so you don’t waste any cheese! Hope that makes sense!

No, this batter is much to wet to make chaffles.
