Ground Beef Egg Bake

Really ground beef egg bake – featuring a a beautiful baked egg that is packed with protein and flavour. You can use any ground meat for this low carb, keto and carnivore friendly recipe. A great brunch and ready in 30 minutes, not to mention super aesthetic and Instagram worthy!

⭐️ GROUND BEEF: Substitute for ground pork. You may also use ground chicken or ground turkey but it will be more dry.

⭐️ WHOLE EGGS: Opt for organic, pasture-raised if possible. The egg yolks of higher quality eggs really make all the difference!

⭐️ SALT & PEPPER: Season to taste.

⭐️ ITALIAN SEASONING: Substitute for any seasonings that you like. Garlic powder and onion powder will also work great.


STEP 1: Season ground beef.

STEP 2: Press down ground beef into muffin pan.

STEP 3: Crack an egg into each muffin tin.

STEP 4: Bake in oven.


TIP #1: Spray your muffin liner before putting in the ground meat.

TIP #2: For a more aesthetic finish, press the ground meat down firmly and try not to leave any gaps.

TIP #3: If time permits, let the egg muffins cool on the counter for 5-10 minutes before taking them out of the muffin tin. Use a knife to separate the the muffin from the tin before lifting out.

TIP #4: Avoid overcooking, as the egg yolk will be rubbery if it is overcooked.


This meal is easy to meal prep, freeze, and store. The egg bake must be completely cooked before it can be stored in the fridge or freezer.


Store for up to 5 days. To reheat, heat on high in the microwave for 3 minutes.


Store in a freezer safe container for up to 1 month. To reheat, allow to thaw completely before reheating in an oven-safe dish at 350 degrees for 20 minutes.

  • 1/2 pound ground beef or ground pork (makes 5 muffins)
  • 6 whole eggs
  • 1/2 tsp salt
  • 1 tsp Italian seasoning
  • 1/4 tsp black pepper


  • Preheat oven to 350 degrees.
  • In a medium sized mixing bowl, add salt, black pepper, and italian seasoning to ground beef. Combine well.
  • Spray muffin tray or coat the tins with butter/oil.
  • Using your fingers, press down the ground meat mixture firmly into each muffin tin, forming a "cup".
  • Crack a whole egg into each cup.
  • Bake in the oven for 25 minutes, checking after 20 minutes to make sure the egg is fully cooked through.
  • Allow cool for 5-10 minutes before taking the muffins out of the tray.
