I used to eat salisbury steak all the time when I was in elementary school, as it was a main staple on the weekly school lunch menu. Traditional salisbury steak usually uses flour as a binding agent and is usually paired with mashed potatoes as the carb dish. In making this low carb salisbury steak, I have made some minor modifications so we still retain the onion and mushroom flavour, but with a low carb twist!

No need to eat with any mashed potatoes – all you need to do is eat an additional beef patty in replacement!

INGREDIENTS FOR LOW CARB SALISBURY STEAK

⭐️ GROUND BEEF – The key ingredient to salisbury steak! I would recommend a fattier cut such as 85/15 or 80/20 for great flavour.

⭐️ CARNIVORE CRISPS BEEF FLOUR – Made with grass fed beef and Redmond’s real salt, ground finely into a powder. Acts as a great binding agent to replace traditional breadcrumbs or flour. You can substitute this for pork panko or ground pork rinds.

⭐️ MUSHROOMS – Provides a deep, umami flavour to the dish.

⭐️ ONIONS – Substitute for shallots.

⭐️ BEEF TALLOW – Any high smoke point oil will work.

⭐️ BEEF BROTH – Substitute for any bone broth, chicken broth, or vegetable broth.

⭐️ EGG – Opt for pasture-raised, organic eggs if they are available to you.

⭐️ WORCESTERSHIRE SAUCE – Great compliment to ground beef, and you can substitute for coconut aminos (which will have a slightly sweeter profile due to natural sweetness of coconut sap).

⭐️ SEASONINGS – Using salt, black pepper, yellow mustard, garlic powder, and onion powder. Any of these may be omitted based on your taste and tolerance.

Easy to make and delicious! I substituted the carnivore crisps with Pork rinds and used a touch of xanthan gum to thicken sauce. Thank you for the recipe,
